Jim Snyder was first elected to the Board in November 2004 representing Division 1 (Cabazon, Banning Bench, and parts of Banning). He was born in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, and grew up in Schaller, Iowa. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1966 and served in combat in Vietnam in 1967-68. After two years of college, he became a counselor for the Riverside County Probation Department from 1970-1975. He became a licensed General Contractor in 1978 and has owned his own construction firm since that time. Prior to his service on the Agency board of directors, he served on the Banning Heights Mutual Water Company board of directors for several years. He is a Life Member of the Banning Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a longtime member of the Banning Sportsman’s Club. His hobbies include hunting, hiking, and off-roading. Director Snyder serves on the Employee Guide and Engineering Committees. His term expires in December 2008. He and his wife Neta live on the Banning Bench.
