
Ted Haring was elected to the Board November 4, 2008. He is Vice-President of the Board and serves as the Chair of the Water Conservation and Education Committee, Vice-Chair of the Employee Guide Committee and Vice-Chair of the Legal Issues Committee.
He has lived in Calimesa with his wife, Diane, for six years. He moved to Calimesa after 18 years in San Diego County. He attended UC Berkeley where he studied Business Administration and received a Certificate of Industrial Relations. He also received training in Organizational Management at San Jose State and the University of Santa Clara. He did graduate studies at the University of Notre Dame, where he received certification in Organizational Management.
Ted has had several careers, including with Standard Oil Company and serving as CEO of a number of Chambers of Commerce in Idaho, Oregon, and California. Prior to retiring, he worked in water conservation, community involvement programs, and legislative advocacy for Eastern Municipal Water District in Perris.
He has served in a number of capacities with the California Urban Water Conservation Council, the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), and the California Municipal Utilities Association. He is a co-author of Riverside County’s water-efficient landscape ordinance. While with Eastern, he received the ACWA Theodore Roosevelt Award for a California Friendly Landscape Pilot Program with Inland Empire home builders.
His term runs through November 2012.
